On Loans and Legal Tender
[11:56] Seth: I think I’m going to put a bank into my game that takes limbs for loans.
[11:56] Seth: Because Pirates can always get a peg leg, right?
[11:57] Rob: lol
[11:57] Seth: So the bank should have no problem parting them with their limbs.
[11:57] Seth: No big deal.
[11:57] Rob: there should be a vendor in an RPG that permanantly removes hitpoints in exchange for powerful weapons
[11:57] Rob: sure, you can deal 9999 damage, but you’re always at 200 less than your maximum amount of HP
[11:58] Seth: That would be very funny. If I had hit points, I would do that. But instead, I’ll do it as collateral for a loan.
[11:58] Rob: hehe
[11:58] Rob: it would be particularly interesting if you could reduce your characters HP permanently to 1 in return for something rediculous
[11:59] Rob: he’ll fall over dead at the faintest gust of wind, but he’ll murder everything in his path until then
[12:00] Seth: that would be awesome… it would have to be like… a weapon of nonviolent resistence. Like… Transcendent Decree, or something. The mob decides to pursue a life of simple farming and part from his violent ways.
[12:01] Seth: Only truly evil and mentally superior foes can resist it?
[12:01] Seth: I’m imagining Ghandi in an RPG world.
[12:01] Seth: Which makes sense, cause he had like 1 hit point after all that fasting.
[12:02] Rob: haha
