While researching…

A lot of functionality has now been build, tested, and integrated at work. So much that I have been distracted by all the wonderful graphic effects I’d like to implement now. While researching some shadow techniques and their efficiency/quality trade-offs,  I was discussing my ideas and finds with a friend over instant messages.

Here’s an excerpt…
[17:25] Rob: but, the larger texture you use for the shadow map, the better it looks
[17:25] Seth: I’m curious also about thee Carmack Reverse stencil shadowing technique.
[17:26] Seth: wikipedia has so many wonderful things to show me
[17:26] Rob: carmack is made of crazy and technology
[17:26] Seth: and also effective
[17:26] Rob: I’m pretty sure if he cuts himself, instead of blood coming out, the world jumps ahead 10yrs technologically

Hehe. I laughed at that. That is comedy. But could it be true? I guess if I suddenly see life-like human-sized andriods bustling about town, I’ll have to worry whether Carmack has fainted somewhere, unable to continue programing from the bloodloss technologyloss.
